Summer Camp 2009
Overview
Gymkana Summer Camp extends the philosophy of the University of Maryland Gymkana Troupe by providing an opportunity for boys and girls of all abilities to learn gymnastics, while stressing healthy, drug-free living. Our camp provides an environment for children to learn and participate in gymnastics without the pressure of competition.
Our morning schedule begins with a warm up session, which is followed by two gymnastic rotations, a juice break, and then two additional gymnastic rotations. After lunch, our afternoon schedule includes weight training, trampoline, double mini trampoline, and acrosport for the older students. Our GymkaTots participate in arts and crafts and are introduced to the trampoline and acrosport. Daily swimming is included for all campers. Additionally, on Tuesday and Thursday campers go to the dairy for an ice cream treat.
Year after year, both parents and campers indicate that our camp is one of the most enjoyable activities they have ever participated in. We believe our camp has proven to be one of the most successful on Maryland's campus. We hope you will consider joining us this summer.
